11/11/13: Monday, and the case of the itchy tights.

Today was a double workout day.

This morning was a swim with Masters – 3100 yards in total.

This was on the board:
200 SKIP (200 swim, 200 kick, 200 IM, 200 Pull)
15 x 100, broken down as:
5 x100 on 1:35
4 x 100 on 1:30
3 x 100 on 1:25
2 x 100 on 1:20
1 x 100 on 1:15

This part we made up (no coach on deck today):
300 pull with 10-15 sec rest
200 pull with 10-15 sec rest
100 pull with 10-15 sec rest

4×50 IM order

This evening was a 20 minute bike, 20 minute run, and 40 minutes weight lifting with Dyl. To put it mildly, I am exhausted right now.

————————————————————————–

I always pick out my clothes the night before I go to the gym, and last night, I decided that I would wear a dress to work on Monday. Wearing the dress I picked out meant that I could wear the new pair of tights I bought a few weeks ago at Target. Over the past few years, I’ve grown very fond of polka dots, so was really looking forward to wearing these tights.

They look really cute, don’t they.

I mean, I did get compliments on them all day.

Here’s the thing: they itch. Badly. Those polka dots mean that there is tiny little fibers just RUBBING against my skin.

Here’s another thing: it’s winter in Minnesota. Which means the air is dry, which means my skin is dry.

Here’s the final thing: I swim in the pool, which dries my skin out more. And swimming in the pool almost every day lately means I am constantly struggling with dry, itchy skin.

So what this really means is that I literally spent all day wanting to rip my tights off and scratch frantically at my skin like a 3-year-old with mosquito bites who won’t listen to their mom when she tells them not to do that.

Happy Monday.
